USF PACT study looks to prevent dementia with brain games
PACT (Preventing Alzheimer’s with Cognitive Training) is a five-year clinical trial to investigate the effectiveness of cognitive training or brain games on the computer to delay cognitive decline in hopes that they prevent dementia.

St. Pete researchers may have found a way to prevent Alzheimer’s. Since 2019, The University of South Florida has been the main site of the Preventing Alzheimer’s with Cognitive Training (PACT) study. Teaming up with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine's Department of Radiology, Tampa General has used 3D printing for planning aortic valve replacements, trauma surgery, cancer surgery and other reconstructions, as well as creating replicas of major organs. This potentially revolutionary technique uses 3D-printed facsimiles to better understand treatment and even reduce risk in invasive and complex surgeries.
